What is Narcissistic Personality Disorder?

Another area of focus is Narcissistic Personality. Many of my clients have a loved one who either has Narcissistic Traits or even NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder). Just like any personality disorder, NPD can range from a mild version of the disorder to severe. Many other factors play into how NPD will affect relationships and lifestyle but there are often some common tendencies. Someone with NPD needs the admiration of others, they need to not only be successful in the area that they personally experience their Narcissism, but they need other people to know that they are successful. They often tend to make themselves sound a little better than they actually are and often think of themselves this same way.
